William Shakespeare’s tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet”, is the renowned story of two lovers belonging to warring families. Written at the end of the 18th century, this work was a catalyst for the creation of a number of famous classical musical works about love. The truly ingenious and world-famous musical interpretation created by Sergei Prokofiev for the ballet “Romeo and Juliet” was completely transformative for its time.

Today, when the music of the ballet “Romeo and Juliet” by Sergei Prokofiev is played, many are able to recognize it within the first two measures. This work had a surprisingly difficult journey to find its way to the hearts of the real audience, but classical dance made certain its success.

Scenes of the main characters at the ball, confessions of love, and the farewell before parting are set in the most innovative ways. These scenes are subordinate to the main dramatic idea: love is eternal! The deep versatility of feelings and emotions experienced by the main characters is very subtly conveyed through choreography.

Our choreographic interpretation of “Romeo and Juliet” corresponds to the idea of a brilliant composer and emphasizes the individuality of the dance medium. It has been successfully performed on tours in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain and other international locations.
